An olive grove was inaugurated by Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino in San Gwann today.
The grove was named after the first parish priest to serve the locality, Fr Leopoldo Tabone OFM Cap.
The minister said the grove was built over 3,000 square metres of land that had been abandoned over a length of 540 metres. More than 320 olive trees have been planted in the grove, where benches have also been installed.
Most of the trees were planted by residents this morning, who adopted their tree through the 34U campaign. Another 100 trees were sponsored by The Point Shopping Complex and 23 by the Soroptimist International.
