Mowjow Gaming Ltd and Mowjow Technology Ltd have been suspended by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority.
The authority said it suspended the licence because the companies breached the laws governing Remote Gaming.
In a brief statement, the LGA said that as a result the website www.mowjow.com was not currently licensed by the authority.
It said it has referred the case to the police for criminal proceedings to be initiated against the company and its shareholders.
Asked why criminal action was requested, a spokesman for the authority said the LGA was bound not to say more so not to prejudice the judgement of the police.
