An 89-year-old woman from Paola was found dead at her residence in Triq Bormla this afternoon.
The police said their help was requested at around 3 p.m. They went on site and found the lifeless body of the woman at the bottom of the stairs. Initial investigations showed it was likely the victim had fallen down the stairs.
An inquiry and an autopsy are being held.
