Gunman admits injuring brother

A man who seriously injured his brother with an air gun was yesterday sentenced to seven months’ imprisonment suspended for two years. Matthew Sciberras, 32, of St Paul’s Bay, admitted shooting at David Sciberras on Monday morning.Mr Sciberras, who was born in the UK, admitted scarring his brother’s face and being in possession of an air gun without a police licence. His brother was hit with a pellet in the forehead in Tourists Street, St Paul’s Bay. Inspector Edmund Cuschieri said it was the defendant himself who filed a police report. Magistrate Doreen Clarke also ordered the confiscation of his air gun and banned him from holding a weapon for two years.
