The HSBC Malta Foundation recently organised its annual Carnival party for children coming from homes and caring organisations across Malta. Foundation chairwoman Catherine Gonzi joined the party, which was attended by more than 300 children who enjoyed playing, singing and dancing in the company of animators and performers. The event was also supported by the Dolmen Resort Hotel and the Mcast Institute of Community Services, whose hairdressing and beauty courses students provided face painting and creative hairstyles for the children. Facilitating support, education and self-development for children in caring institutions is one of the foundation’s main aims. Globally, HSBC invests US$50 million (€38 million) a year in education projects, in which thousands of employees are involved. The bank helps young people fulfil their potential and realise their ambitions by providing access to education, developing life skills and entrepreneurship and promoting international and cultural understanding.
