More than 5 year wait for a third of housing applications

A third of housing applications have been waiting for over five years, according to Social Solidarity Minister Michael Falzon. There are 3,271 pending applications for social housing, of which 522 are for re-housing from existing social accommodation. Of these, 1,161 have been pending for over five years, while a further 1,081 have been waiting for between two and five years. The minister was replying to Parliamentary Questions by MP Claudio Grech.
