Breast Care Support Group get their headquarters

Breast Care Support Group has been handed over a central property in Floriana by the government as their base, so as to be able to help more the breast cancer patients. Without any official premises, the group could only meet once a month. The new location in St Anne Street will give them the possibility of offering their free services to members and to breast cancer patients on a regular basis. “Now you will no longer be nomads,” said Lands Minister Jason Azzopardi, who presided over the ceremony of transfer of Government property to the Breast Care Support Group for an encroachment fee of €100 per year. Dr Azzopardi thanked Gertrude Abela, the Support Group president “for giving the government the opportunity to be of help”. He appealed to breast cancer sufferers not to be afraid, shy and above all not to  keep back from seeking help.
