Christmas Cards: A Dying Tradition?

Although the tradition of Christmas is bigger than ever, it would seem as though Christmas cards are declining rapidly.  The tradition was started by Sir Henry Cole in England in 1843. Originally, they were unique designs made by artists and were only affordable for rich people. However, they become more accessible as printing methods improved. By the 1900s, cards were regularly sent to family and friends, and closer to the modern day came Christmas cards containing jokes or other amusing pictures.
