AT SUNDAY LUNCH

During Sunday lunch, a friend received an email from Joseph Muscat, who addressed him as "Dear Friend". I know most of my friend's friends and Joseph isn't one of them. My missus also got the same thing not much later, and I'm pretty sure she's never had the ineffable pleasure of befriending Muscat. Be that as it may be, the email is evidence of way more than the presumption with which Muscat's minions try to insinuate him into people's lives, and during their free time, too. It contains statements that justify the feeling many of us have that these people really don't have much of a clue. The email tells us what responsible action Muscat intends to take to address the speculation and instability that is wracking the country. This responsible action seems to include proposing a no-confidence vote with such unashamed speed that many feel this is now incontrovertible evidence that Muscat is simply gagging for the keys to Castille.
