Marsa residents fume over sewage problems

Marsa local council is to file a judicial protest against Transport Malta and the Transport Ministry over sewage problems in  il-Pitkali, Zerafa, is-Sajjieda, Fra Diegu and Patri Felicjan Bilocca Streets. Addressing a news conference in Triq Patri Felicjan Bilocca, where the stenchof sewage was unbearable, Mayor Francis Debono said that the government had promised the council that this long-standing issue  would be solved once the December 13 road reconstruction project was finished. But the problem had now gotten worse. The mayor said that, just this morning, because of the heavy rain, a couple of manhole covers rose with the water pressure and the streets were flooded with sewage.
