Italian man refuses to be extradited, remanded in custody

An Italian man who lives in Qawra was this morning remanded in custody after he did not consent to being extradited to Italy. Angelo Fregapane Italian, 58, was wanted in Italy in connection with crimes related to fraud and misappropriation and a European Arrest Warrant was issued. It transpires that between 1991 and 1999, Mr Fregapane was the director of Cespeda, a company, and he was wanted because he had claimed vankruptcy to defraud creditors, allegedly stealing more than one billion Italian lire in the process.
