Two frigates and a naval supply ship are in Grand Harbour on a short visit.
They are the French Navys FS L'Adroit and the Potuguese Corte Real and the replenishment vessel Berlin of the German Navy, which has been to Malta before.
Corte-Real (F332) is a Vasco da Gama class frigate operated by the Portuguese Navy. She was commissioned on 1 February 1992 and carries air and surface search radars, sonar, a 100mm gun, torpedoes and anti-aircraft and anti-ship missiles.
The L'Adroit is smaller and brand new vessel with a design meant to deflect radar detection. Its purpose is offshore patrol and it is therefore lightly armed with a 20mm gun and two machine guns, as well as a helicopter and a search radar.
