Eight arrested following drug finds

Eight people have been arrested following drug finds in Gozo and in Cospicua. The police said they found heroin targeted for trafficking in Gozo at a residence in Xaghra yesterday morning. The owner of the residence, a 51-year-old man, was arrested together with another four men aged between 31 and 53. They are from Victoria, Xaghra and St Julian's and were found in possession of heroin, cannabis resin and cash. An inquiry is being held. Early this morning, at around 1.30 a.m. the police found three people, all from Cospicua, in possession of cocaine and cannabis. They are between 17 and 38 and were at a kiosk in the area known as Fuq Verdala in Cospicua. Duty free cigarettes were later found at the residence of the kiosk owner.
